The Anthology...So Far 'Weight of the World' Maybe your daddy never held you like he should Maybe your mama just held on the best she could Ev'ry soul has a secret Give it away or keep it But yesterday's gone so tell me why You carry the weight, the weight of the world It's breakin' you down on your back like a boulder Before it's too late, get rid of it, girl Get it off of your shoulder I know you've been used But you gotta lose the weight of the world It all comes down to who you crucify You either kiss the future or the past goodbye We could fly so high But we carry the weight, the weight of the world It's breakin' us down on our backs like a boulder Before it's too late, get rid of it, girl, Get it off of our shoulders You know we've been used And we gotta lose the weight of the world It's breakin' us down and the night's growin' colder Just blame it on fate, that was yesterday, girl And we're just growin' older You know we've been used And we've gotta lose The weight of the world The weight of the world Beaucoups of Blues 'Woman of the Night' It's worth the rain to have a little sunshine And you laugh much louder when you learn to cry. 'I'd Be Talking All The Time' If it wasn't talking about a certain person it would fit better with my life, but it still works. If I talked about the good times, There wouldn't be much to say, For seldom happy memories come to mind. If I talked about the sleepless nights You brought my way, I'd be talking all the time. For ev'ry dream that came my way, A million passed me by. I thought I couldn't be hurt more, Then you said goodbye. Blast From Your Past 'The No-No Song' People always tell you to 'just say no' and all that, but to hear something like this, from one of the people you adore, it's just different somehow. I have never done drugs and I never intended to, but this way it's practically a guarantee. A lady that I know just came from Columbia, She smiled because I did not understand. Then she held out some marijuana She said it was the best in all the land. And I said, "No, no, no, no, I don't smoke it no more, I'm tired of waking up on the floor. No, thank you, please, it only makes me sneeze, And then it makes it hard to find the door." 'It Don't Come Easy' Got to pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues, And you know it don't come easy. You don't have to shout or leap about, You can even play them easy. Forget about the past and all your sorrows, The future won't last, It will soon be your tomorrow. Choose Love 'Fading In Fading Out' Life is fast, life is strange Every breath is filled with happiness or pain The story goes till you reach the end Why give it up when there's a chance to start again? How many times do we need to hear it There's a light out there No need to fear it Fading in, fading out Isn't that what life's about? First you're here, then you're gone Still the world goes on and on But that's all right, I'm here right now It takes so long sometimes to figure out 'Oh My Lord' When I'm in darkness and full of fear I know the answer when you are here Now I believe, it's all become clear When my heart is wandering hopeless and sad I look for the answers, the ones that you have I have to let go to be in your hands With peace and love We'll rise above And find you there Of all that's uncertain, after all I've been through The one thing that's certain, that I know is true The love that we need all comes from you 'Some People' When it starts to go wrong And I feel like it can't go back It's just a bump in the road It's just a penny that's on the track Some people can't move on And some can't let it go But I can...and you can So we don't have to worry 'bout that Sometimes it seems Like we'll never be whole again Like an oak in the wind We bend a little bit now and then Ringo Rama 'Imagine Me There' Imagine me there Let the dawn break Without heartache All our lives Imagine Never lonely Dream and I'll be By your side Imagine Trust in love and love is everywhere Imagine me there Sometimes life can be A fragile occupation When I think myself in frantic situations I imagine you there So imagine me there 'Trippin' On My Own Tears' It's not really part of the song, just speech at the beginning, and it's kind of a strange quote but that's ok. If you can't laugh, you know, what's the problem? 'Love First, Ask Questions Later' So baby, don't forget this What comes around will go Maybe we'll regret this Well, maybe never knows Love first, ask questions later Moments pass, they won't wait for the waiter No one's ever found the power that is greater So love first, ask questions later Baby, don't forget this What comes around will go I promise you won't regret this Tomorrow never knows 'English Garden' I guess I just love this because Ringo's talking to the dogs in the song too, at one point you just barely hear a dog bark and Ringo say, "Hi, kids." All the individual Beatles' affection for animals made me feel so much closer to them than any other band. It made me like them so much more as soon as I found out how caring they really were towards all animals.
